Refuse To Be blind

Refuse To Be blind

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.

seeing you starts a natural reaction

my hands start to shake out of place

I've lost the eyes I once saw you with

the clouds are gathering their pace...

Things have a way of turning out so badly

a distraction to a perfect design

Its hard to know what to believe now

In a place where the people don't shine

I honestly want to perceive you

someone is teaching me but ignorance can be bliss

one day I might be as foolish as you

living as each swing insists....

This is such good work, I love this. So much feeling. The to last lines are very good, inspirational.

I feel old reading this because I just wanna say
you are far too young to be losing your eyes to clouds.
I write this from behind my broken spectacles- Clear, observant eyes make for the best writers.

I like the rhyme, doesn't seem forced as is so often the case. Z

Oh how I wish I'd written the last two lines.
I've never seen rhyming couplets used in such a subtle way - usually they make a poem obvious but here your highly honed grasp of rhyme makes them seem so effortless. You make it look easy when there must have been a lot of work involved to create something so tight.
The flow is perfect perfect perfect and the wording beautiful. I love it.
