Boundaries

These walls hold me

Unable to encores in the action behind me

I try to look but only ever get a little glimpse

The people hustling about

While I stand perfectly still

I wish I could move like them

Use my legs and run with them

But I am forever stuck here

In this hole in the wall

Daydreaming about what I could have

I couldn’t see when my dad died

My family forgot about me

It is only me here in this world

Stuck in the wall like a prisoner

Sucking my life away

When I close my eyes all I see

The beauty that haunts my dreams

I want to be back to where I could see my family

But this place has claimed me as its captive

And escaping this hole is not an option
