Eclipse 1 and 2

Eclipse 1 and 2

A Poem by jesthepoet
"

This first poem is one I wrote several years ago. Coming upon it recently I felt a strong need to say something more~to continue the story, I guess, or answer it. Thus, the next poem:

"

~Eclipse~

You eclipse me.

I thought my glow

was my own;

but I see now,

it's only superficial,

only because of you.

My beauty

is only a reflection

of yours,

an illusion

produced by the brilliance

of your light.

Reduced to shadow

without you

I come undone.

I am ,forever, the moon

To your sun.

~ECLIPSE II~

I see now.

I am not the illusion.

Perhaps this glow

is yours, but not this person.

I am solid. I am mass.

Substantial

in ways you cannot be.

My beauty is not this

outward face ~ this shine.

It comes from a deeper,

more powerful place.

You touch all.

I move all!

I am tidal.

Catamenial. Cyclic.

The moon to your sun?

Yes~ it's true;

but sometimes

my beautiful blaze,

(and this is the part you always seem to

               forget)

Sometimes…

I eclipse you.
