An Unwelcome Wind

An Unwelcome Wind

A Poem by JB Murray
"

A poem of seasons... fall and winter...

"

I take a step
The canopy above burning
Burning in oranges and yellows
Crimsons and browns
Falling
An unwelcome wind
Carrying the seasons
Colors are fading
Soon blanket the ground
Ghosts
And branches left broken
Naked and wanting
An unwelcome wind
That makes not a sound
Waking
My breath all but frozen
It hangs in the air
Fires are fading
The winter king crowned
I take a step
A soft, subtle white blanket
That crunches beneath
The unwelcome wind
Just comes back around
