Dream Thought

Dream Thought

A Poem by Jason Galliger

In the break before the dawn

a reverb of thought

caught between a dream and daybreak

echoes through the bedroom

sliding across sprawled sheets

ducking under bathroom vanities

peeking between your hippocampus and frontal cortex

but before you can point a finger and say;

“HA! I found you.”

GROAN

-creak in the bedspring-

 it’s gone

out the window

soaring among the morning birds

till sunset comes again.

vividly put on a dream like an elusive phantom...perhaps something the waking mind could not fathom
