Harmonic Wars

Harmonic Wars

A Poem by Jason Galliger

Static lingers over the dissonance front
The thrum-pump of the drum machine
Like artillery shells
That peppers the sky with explosions
Soldiers take cover under the ramshackle bandstand trenches
From concerts long past
the generals stand with tattoos, leather jackets, and spiked hair
their axes bear battle scars
a souvenir of  year-long solo riffs
as they crouch over the battlements
ready to unleash a barrage of flaming harmonic laser arrows
the battlefield is silent and fog-covered
a hunger fills the air
the beat drops
and all is lost in the puff of smoke and dust
of reverb.

A lot of emotion is involved in this. A very passionate piece and I have a lot of respect for it. Wars anger me but I know what goes on and how damaging they are in all kinds of aspects. A sad but beautiful write, well done.

Very unique. This is a great dedication to our soldiers though, and our vets. Great and thoughtful write. :)
