One Containment

One Containment

A Poem by Jasmine Garcia
"

The thought of rejection is superior to the feeling of love. That is why falling in love and seeing your own downfall is more painful than rebuilding yourself up.

"

One Containment

the One person

the One only one I see

across the room,

in the halls

I can’t Escape

walking,

Smile gracing my lips,

Walking

down the stairs

to the Meeting place.

others pass.

I only have my mind on One;

One person.

I turn right.

no words can Explain

the Feelings I have.

One text.

Meet me in practice rooms

nothing More.

5 words,

Enough for me.

I take a left.

Darkness behind each door.

all but One.

Bouncing on the balls of my feet

wanting to scream:

Finally.

I Contain my Feelings

I Approach

Eyes closed.

a deep Breath,

another,

a long Exhale.

Eyes open

a Saddening

Sight.

hands over each Other,

shoulders pressed Together.

If only it was Me.

a deep Breath,

another,

a long Exhale.

knob turning,

foot forward,

eyes Teary,

hands Shaking;

a loud Creak.

I Contain my Feelings,

a smile on my lips

Again.

I Don’t want to smile,

but I do.

Shaky Breath.

Hey guys.

Eyes meet

no Emotion behind.

Hi!

Head of silky hair

turning Away.

Babe meet my Friend

eyes Fall,

but

I Contain my Feelings.
