The Climb

Here I stand

In the midst of those who’ve have fought and won

Remnants of a past

That somehow has just begun

I am faded by the glory

Of victors who yet to stand before me

Laid to rest by those who have lost

In someone else’s story

I am willed to the top

Only to fall

From the shadow that has blinded me

Climbing someone else’s wall
