These Dreams

These Dreams

A Poem by Jheart

In Back Of Your Mind

Behind your eyes,
in back of your mind,
Is where the sweetest dreams,
you'll find,

Hold onto them
close as they can be
For sometimes they come true,
you'll see,

Night after night,
your thoughts do roam,
Distant journeys they take,
tho' never far from home,

For love or passion,
for wishes dear,
Hold tightly to this,
keep them always near,

Take a trip on a sunbeam,
as the sky explodes,
Take a dare when you come
to familiar crossroads,

Don't let anyone tell you
how or why,
Never stop trying to keep
your dreams alive,

They can take you away
to your fantasy land,
Or to a reality place,
one close at hand,

There's beauty, laughter,
amazement and awe,
Make sure you remember
all the visions you saw,

Let yourself be swept up
in pleasure or passion,
Leave the present behind,
and dream in new fashion

It has been a very long time since I have been able to read your words my friend. It always amazes me how poetic friends can loose track of each other and somehow, some day, they will meet again, quite by accident within another home of published hearts.

I loved this write. Full of hope and promise, and dreams just waiting to be realized as reality.

Even though I have only been on Writer's Cafe a few days, I extend a welcome to you here, and
I so look forward to opening your future pages.

Keep em coming.

Blessings,
Lesa

I am so inspired by you saying you didn't start writing until you were 40 and published something in less than 10 years...that is incredible...how does one go about publishing work and selling ????

dreams do many things for us
provide an escape from the reality we face
allow us to work out our problems in safety
sometimes even give us messages that our conscious mind subdues
and sometimes - provide us with adventures we can never know outside that world;
allowing us to be free for a short time - it is those dreams this speaks of - that feeling
that we need to carry with us upon awakening.
