Will I Remember You?

Will I Remember You?

A Poem by Jheart

Will I Remember You?

Will I Remember You?

This is a strange question but....
I was thinking,
how could I forget you?..
You have left an indelible mark
on my heart and soul...
There are so many things
you do every day
that you don't even know about....

Even if I don't see you,
you're still with me.....
Even if we don't talk,
you're never far away.

There are times during the day or night
when I have a few minutes
to just sit and rest.....
and there you are,
right where I always know you'll be,
close to my heart.

Situations come up, and I wonder......
What would you do?
After all the time we've known each other,
I usually know the answer.

Then there are the times.....
The very precious times
we share here together.
I smile, I laugh....
sometimes I even cry....
But that doesn't matter,
because you're here.

For at no other time in my life,
have I been assured
That someone that cares,
That understands,
That.....loves....
Is here for me.

I wanted to end this with a smile,
Wishing I'd seen your face,
All the years and chances passed,
Our paths were out of place....

You gave so much
to the world dear friend,
a debt it cannot repay,
All the love and caring
in your pages and words,
Will be in our hearts to stay....

Will I remember you?
For the rest of my life.....and yours

Jim as I read this once again I sit here with tears falling upon my lap knowing your pain is still so fresh and that place in your life is still forever empty. Just know I love you and am here for you. Huge HUGE Hugs.

I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes,
And I miss you still

The words to this song "Winter"

I should know who I am by now,
I walk the record stand somehow,
Thinking of winter
Your name is the splinter inside me
While I wait

And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown,
And I remember the truth,
A warm December with you,
But I don't have to make this mistake,
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wake...

The walk has all been cleared by now
Your voice is all I hear somehow
Calling out winter
Your voice is the splinter inside me
While I wait

And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown,
And I remember the truth,
A warm December with you,
But I don't have to make this mistake,
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wake...

I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes,
And I miss you still

Oh! I remember the sound
Of your November downtown,
And I remember the truth,
A warm December with you,
But I don't have to make this mistake,
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wake...

Jim my friend, I have known all along the grief you are feeling for your dear friend Rita. That she is not only your friend but also your poetic mentor. I walked in your shoes not many years back. That awful word Cancer, I so wish could be wiped from our vocabulary. I never thought that I would be lucky enough to ever find two people that I could so willingly and lovingly call friend. Then Inge left to me Donna, who I met on another poetry site so many years ago now. I know you feel helpless to give comfort, to let her know just how much you care and have always cared. Believe me Jim she knows. Then there is our Donna who we both love so deeply. She loves you and will stand beside you always, just as I know she will me, and both of us will stand beside her now, as she grieves the loss of her sister.

When you must say the final goodbye to your friend, I also will keep you in my prayers and love. This is so beautiful Jim. My heart breaks for you, for I truly understand how yours is breaking.

My Love,
Lesa

This was written for a very special friend and mentor who is battling and losing her bout with cancer. Without her, there would be no web pages, no poetry, no published book by myself. For everything you gave me Rita, Thank you
