Deja Vu

Deja Vu

A Poem by Jim of Earth
"

Though we make mistakes along the way, we are never beyond redemption. Even ppat regrets can be recycled into something meaningful.

"

I died a long, long, time ago

when my life to some had mattered

the house of cards came tumbling down

and all the windows shattered

my soul wandered aimlessly

as I saw myself all splattered

time itself had stood its ground

while all the ashes scattered

I lived a mere few moments ago

when death was all that mattered

A house of stone came rising up

and old beliefs were shattered

my spirit worked so purposely

the angels were all flattered

time flew by on a whim

while seeds of faith were scattered

Just now, the devil was at the door

so much stronger than before

his touch was like heaven to me

it felt so good to be set free

the devil opened the door

and I could take no more

I begged him please just let me be

but he laughed at my pathetic plea

the pleasure now just torment

my world left simply dormant

I was born some precious seconds ago

when the edge of darkness flickered

the angels sang a single note

but the devil mostly snickered

he demanded his pound of flesh

for a payment well past due

we all let out a great big laugh

It felt like Deja Vu
