They are Love

They are Love

A Poem by Tara Ghorm

Door shut behind me
Behind me is my home
My home is not a comfort
Comfort is in him
He isn’t so far away
Far away from home from I run
I run to his home
His home is small
His home is quaint
His home is nice and warm
His home is quiet
His home is peace
His home, his home, is love

Door shut before me
Before me is the doorbell
The doorbell is fear
Fear is in me
I overcome the fear
I reach my hand up and push
I push the doorbell -RING
His mother is curious
His mother is nervous
His mother welcomes me in
His mother is caring
His mother is understanding
His mother, his mother, is love

Door shut to his bedroom
His bedroom now opens
Opens to reveal him
He sees me-in shock
In shock, he says little
He says little, but much
Much of what he says is love
He is frightened
He is nervous
He is supportive of my intentions
He is comforting
He is adoring
He is, he is... love
