First Glance

I find myself in this strange place

One that is scary and ominous as ever

So I keep my head down, hiding my face

Because I feel so lost and lonely cause nothing is better

Yet, there is a small candle flame that sparks in my auditorium of darkness

It occurs when I look up at you from across the room

It’s a feeling I cannot quite harness

It’s the ending of my doom

A shock passes between you and I

One that holds our gazes still

One that lifts my heart up, making it float in the sky

I cannot describe how it makes me feel

Call me crazy, I don’t care

I know what I felt

But it’s a burden I want to bear

Cause inside it makes me melt

Butterflies swarm in my tummy

I know I’m not faking

I may be acting like a big dummy

But I know that my mind, heart, and soul is yours for the taking

oooh! if this is a poem that talks about Evan's love interest then i am so psyched to keep reading your novel to find out who it is! (i have a feeling that it's going to take the novel off into a whole different dimension and i'm excited to see where it goes!)

it was nicely written, and i felt like it was actually in Evan's POV when i read it. keep it up!! i can't wait for chapter 3!

This is so beautiful. Love at first sight. I don't think I've ever actually read something about it, but I love the way how captured it. Great job!

Love the first line of the second stanza..'.my auditorium of darkness', nice description of one's state of being. A really heartfelt write of a real connection. Nice job.:)

Haha the rhyming is kind of funny. Especially that last little part. But it's really a sweet poem. If someone wrote it for me i'd be pretty glad (=
