Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox

A Poem by J. L. Nagai

the desecrated sleeps
wrapped in black clouds
he is a skeleton
ashes filling the space
where lungs ought to be
breathing in life
but now that is my duty
flowers are tingling
blooming in my abdomen
I am bearing all the things
that must be done
and for once I am trusting
in the one above
it will all be worth it
pain will be a lie
just some cruel practical joke
and I will guard
for the skeletons no more
