Domestic Disturbance

Domestic Disturbance

A Poem by Lillith
"

For all those domestic abuse victims that refuse to leave their abuser

"

Screaming in the dark
Shouts of hate
Sounds of violence
Sound of silence
Bloodstains on the walls
Crimson sheets on the floor
Yellow tape across the door
Flashing blue lights
Sirens wailing
A child screaming
Neighbors crowd the street
A spectacle in their midst
Questions wait till morning
The black bag floats by
Violence in chains escorted away
Lights go out
Neighbors return to slumber
Yellow tape and death remain
