A Gift from Heaven

A Gift from Heaven

A Poem by Jon Michael Semilla
"

A Gift from Heaven is a poem dedicated to all teachers around the world, as a sign of tribute for all the hard work and sacrifices they have done just for the sake of every student's learning.

"

When ignorance tries to occupy me,

And it seems I have nowhere else to learn,

But then you showed and came to existence,

Thanks God for the gift: I have a teacher!

You treat me as if I'm your only child,

Although sometimes I tend to be so wild,

You're always there to help the problems I bear,

Thanks God for the gift: I have a teacher!

Since teaching is the only profession,

That teaches all the other profession,

With you, there are doctors and engineers,

So thank you God! We're blessed with great teachers!

In fact, you're more than a hero to us,

A person filled with knowledge, love, and trust,

So thank you for all you have given,

My teacher: you're indeed a gift from heaven!

Teachers are always a blessing, Jon. I know there are a great many students out there that may be telling themselves now that they hate school or education.

But once you have grown out of your wild state, you will find all these wonderful things you have learned can be applied to give you a good evaluation of the past, the position of yourself now in the world, and the planning of your destination for the future.

A teacher is a wonderful person, they want you to learn anything and everything about our great wide universe. Surely there is no greater profession. :)

I guess I want to ask, are you a teacher yourself ?

Nope. Just a student. But many of my relatives were teachers.

Thank you for a nice review. I can see that you too, value their existence. :)
Teachers tend to be the unsung heroes that truly mold our foundations in life. Spiritual or educational.

Many people consider the education system a curse, however it truly is a blessing to hold a good teacher within your life--thank you for writing this--especially as your first writing; it shows that you have a heart in writing to extend out to others who may have not been mentioned--despite how great of a role they play in society and for our foundation as a whole.

What a lovely tribute to teachers. We do work very hard and each year it is as if my class is filled with my children. I cry every year when they move on. We teachers of the world salute you.
