My Girl

My Girl

A Poem by James

what begins to fog was once clear

my palms sweat

and I stutter as you come near

by the look in your eyes I am unwound

faster and faster

the drum in my chest begins to sound

my mind drowns in many thoughts

I hold you close

so my arms can say what my lips cannot

your kiss makes me weak at the knee

but to brighten my day

a simple smile is all I need

found in you is not just a friend

but trust, excitement, comfort

and love that doesn’t end

Aww, this is a very sweet poem. I love that your choice in words is simplistic because it makes the poem have a 'new-found love' sort of feel. It creates a very tender and happy atmosphere. Also, great structure and flow. :) :) :)
