Makin' It

Makin' It

A Poem by John Antonio
"

For me, it's hard to get over the past.

"

My eyes search for purpose.
My hands lack the proper tools.
Weariness syphons my heart's desire.
A vacuum on the other side.
Nothing gained nor lost.

Your cyclic emotions gain speed with each old day.
Doesn't have to be like that.
The future hasn't been written.

Learn to forget the past.
Memories serve to make you weak.
They form the twister that sweeps up your heart and mind and mashes them until you can't tell the difference.

The words.
The scene.
The foreign tongue your heart speaks.
The warmth in your face.
Flush and distressed.
Can't shake it.
Can't take it.
But you can make it.
