Growing Up

Growing Up

A Poem by MusterMyMonsters
"

Somebody I used to know

"

Loving lost memories can mistake to loving someone lost,

Memories may love, but someone may not,

I do not know the difference, and sometimes I do,

But, it doesn't make a difference, or matters to you,

I don't think I can rely, on someone so faint,

Nor can I trust a heart that's so taint,

I try not to be above, or exceedingly excel,

But, I seem to be lost under this burdened spell,

I cannot be with someone so lost,

For I cannot pay that crushing cost,

I will not pity you, nor feel shame,

I have quit this unnecessary game,

I will leave, but I warn, do not follow,

You cannot fill a heart that is so hollow,

Your clock may be right, or mine might be wrong,

But, I know it's time for me to run along,

No tears will be shed, none for you sir,

This you do not deserve, this I concur,

So, go play with your toys, while I grow,

Then you'll be somebody that I used to know
