Yellow

a color-metaphor poem done for my creative writing class

Yellow is ebracing a friend

bright buttercups in a ditch

a never ending day

blonde lockes tangled by the wind

the lightbulb above your head

 

It's coffee induced energy

It's slowing but never stopping

memories of springtime and Easter eggs

little children playing in their church clothes

picking daisies in the meadow

 

Yellow is

eating vanilla wafers and pudding

the sunshine warming our skin as we walk

the pure joy I feel when you hold my hand

more than a crush
