Summer Skies

A fairly abstract poem about jealousy and realization.

"

I see broken smiles in the clouds,

Love struck hatred painted in wistful white strokes.

They call me home to a place I have never been.

 

Caress these bruised wings;

Cherish their wasted glory,

For their whisper now echoes in silence.

 

The birds mock me,

Thrashing and beating the sky into a haze.

They flaunt their divinity to the horizon.

 

Let me keep just one more secret,

One more solemn truth between the stars and this life�"

It’s all worth it.
