Red Moon

Red Moon

A Poem by Lonely Scorpio Girl
"

Two girls and a red moon.

"
‘Red moon
gazing death in the eye.
Please don’t let my loved one die.’

A little girl wept in her sleep
dreaming of mother’s warmth to keep.
Woke up in the damp room with sorrow,
knowing tragedy would strike tomorrow.

A tomboy leapt out of the shadows,
singing of teachers hanging on the gallows.
Skipping down the hall in laughter,
still shocked by the school’s terror.

Red moon
burning ruby in the sky,
beaming at Athena’s protégé on the sly

Two girls perched on the brick wall.
The little girl will weep, and the tomboy will fall.
‘Tonight our mothers lie in bed’ the little girl said.
The tomboy cried, ‘I don’t want to find mine dead.’

‘Red moon
gazing death in the eye,
please don’t let our loved ones die.’
