No One

I recently met the most wonderful people from the most wonderful places all over the world. This is for them.

No one prepared me for heart break

No one except yourself can prepare you for heart break

No one; not even myself could prepare me for this

No one has seen what I've seen: 

tear marked cheeks as I leave my home forever

No one has heard what I've heard: 

I love you's shouted across time zones both west and east,

promises hoping to be kept

No one has felt what I've felt:

pieces of myself broken and missing -scattered worldwide,

last touches that linger on my finger tips 

No one knows what I know:

it will come back soon - I'll be home, 

home is not a place it's my people

No one prepared me for such sorrow

But no one has loved me as they do - a love that beats distance
