Ode to a Cat

I love cats. Out of the four poems I've written as of the publish date of this poem, this is the second one that's been about cats.

I stroke your fur,

hearing your purrs;

into your ear I murmur.

And though you know not what the words

mean, I know that you know my love.

For you, my cat, are my love in this world.

You push your head up onto my open hand.

I scratch you lightly in between your ears,

just the way you like it.  You love this land

Just as I do.

For you are my cat.
