At Sea, with Love
In a distant port,
A line of red lights
Curtsy like
Lightning bugs in
Flight.
Ghost crabs
Scuttle across
Darkened sands.
Hidden Inlets fill
With obscured waters,
As a tempest travels
By pitch-black night.
Dangerous moving currents
Flow as crashing waves churn with white-capped
Curves in the air
Above the ocean’s surface.
Small dunes form in the silken sands,
As strong winds whip around through the fine dust.
Summers full of memories
Come to my mind,
As a full sultry moon rises,
And spreads silvery light
Across the shrouded landscape.
Stars dazzle in the blue-black darkness further away.
A last night together on a dampened pier
Returns,
As a tingling is felt on my skin.
Desperation brings the roar of the surf back,
Gentle breezes cool my bare skin,
And clear ghost
Images
Form in my mind.
