Nature's Control

Nature's Control

A Poem by Josie E. Cook M. A.
"

Nature...

"

Nature's Control

With the actual illusions, of

A vegetable garden, so much better

than the gathering granite headstones.

As it will be Spring soon,

the earth is in every split of the stones,

as every blade of grass forms under every window;

By the flourishing of our lives and the lush greenery,

By the remnants of life's artifacts,

By this earth in every minute of renewal,

By a growth of grassland from under every window;

our earth is in every imperfection of these stone towers,

as the grass grows up through the warps in every floorboard;

The fragrant and thick shrubs of morning

Are thick with erect growth,

Their centuries of twined branches are

Bursting with energy,

Trailing over the herbs of greatness

And what is to come with their beauty and grace;

By the lilac bushes that are double-hued,

Their purple spray mixing the white blooms,

The various fragrances are mixed becoming steadfast,

A perfume of stronghold flowing in our air.

Our earth in every cavernous area,

Grass still growing along every entrance.

It is just starting to bloom Spring here in the land Down under, and evidence of all your images in this poem are surging into abundance.

This is another delicate piece of writing, written with care and wonderment for the natural world in which we live. As always, very well described with lush imagery of the rebirth of nature after the hibernation of Winter chill. Nice work.

Another beautiful poem for Nature. The flower and trees are colorful and alive here in Michigan. I enjoyed your description of the world of Spring. Thank you Josie for sharing the amazing poetry.
