Your overdose Didn't take me by surprise, However, it didn't happen as fast I as I presumed it would I hope it was peaceful, You weren't found in time--this time. You were always chasing ghosts Never valuing your life Not one soul ever understood it, But for me. That one was thought to stay in her room While you died alone, That girlfriend that you were with--not me. My replacement, she did not save you, From yourself. But I did when we lived together, We were still legally married, Even though, we were separated for at Least, six years, and you died Without me, always being there to Care for you, Could it be that you paid dearly for Your sins against me? Or, that you just gave up And ended it as you wanted. I will never know the truth, Nor do I care. --J. E. Cook ©2017 © 2017 Josie E. Cook M. A.Author's Note
