Deliberate roads
Our story is already

The pure and delicious
Mystery of a love
Still unwritten
Gets itself lost within
A sharp and cutting
Shame

Let's continue our
Denial
Excuse our indecision
Pretend we're
Untethered
Available to become
Intwined
We keep our safety nets
Intact.

Without a second thought
Or query it's clear
We have been
Tricked
Product sum of
Two made from one
Still unable to find
A zipper
To piece us back
Together

And yet we hang on
To a sweet discreet
Design
An excitment tied
To lies
Strict rules
Kept in place by
Restraint and forced
Refrain.

I really like this and there is not one specific spot I like the best because it all goes together so well and as a whole it is really great. It's like a love that never even had a chance to develop is already over it's sad and heartfelt. I'm wondering with the last verse if the love is over because you are not allowed to be together. Great job I like to read a poem and then be able to analyze it and try to figure out what the writer was going through and this delivers. Thanks for sharing.

Reading this poem, i felt a subtleness, which is not found in many other poems. As Theresa mentions, a love, never given the chance to grow beyond it's first steps. But, the lovers are afraid to move on with their lives. Thank you, sharing for this fresh and interesting poem with us.
