I hurt for you

I hurt for you

A Poem by JulieMorgan
"

I wrote this poem as a way to express my feelings because I couldn't formulate the words to say out loud. A couple very near and dear to my heart is ending their marriage of almost 30 years.

"
From elated
To jaded
Has [their] love truly faded?

From long playful nights
To hurtful relentless fights
What has [their] life become?

I lie awake hurting more
How did I not see these signs before?

If I did, what would I say?
All my words have run
a
w
a
y
...

Gathering thoughts I cannot express
Sometimes the heart feels what the mind won't confess.

Actions speak volumes, but silence does too.
What's the true meaning behind those three words?
I love you.

I can learn from [their] experiences
and let the past be the past.
But how do I make [our] love last?
