Heart is not Empty

While my world falls down

He managed to warm my January cold heart

The transition of power is now

As we grow apart the war between death is always hard

As a sweet white beast gets his halo

Becoming one with the colors and warmth of the rainbow

The sun glowed so bright

Even with the tears I cry there is no fright

God called him home to the divine  fatherly embrace

Forever free waiting for me in a better place

Ready for me to call on that sweet day

He will run in to me together we will always be

In a new way

The earthly mission complete

His after taste ever sweet

He whispers I still stay with thee

You are still mine for eternity

I just wait in a place where I can be free

Ejected from the earthly shell

The never ending story forever ours to tell.

Ben came to my side he left work early to help me in the hard chapter

He kissed me as we stood in the garden not allowing my heart to harden

In this small hour there is still happily ever after

I didnt ask him he had a birthday gift for me too

He came 30 minutes past two

How can I say no

He is my only hope

The only one who can help me to cope

Yet its not the same

Men and dogs there is no equal game

Dogs love without reason in each season

They don't see like humans do

I am guilty of it too

Today is my first weekend without Kiddo

No faithful companion for the walk

No faithful ear for the ramble and aimless talk

How do I get through

I lost the other two in 2020

2021 still feels heavy

Yet I walk in comfort knowing my heart is not empty.
