The Checkerboard

The Checkerboard

A Poem by butterfly

Why am I so angry
Maybe because 6 Asians died because of a man's sexual addition
It is not a hate racially motivated crime says the people with the fancy degree
The news makes it harder to listen
Got us screaming like children
They dont hear
We  dont see what they see
I forgive him though
He obviously sold his soul to the devil a long time ago
The church shouldnt have left him abandoned
Yet all of us dont have a clue
We dont know
How to function in this white man land
I know though its more than that
the checkerboard is black and white squares
This is the spiritual game who knows what goes where
No one really knows the rules
There is an instruction manual
Yet so many of us play like fools
Whatever the label it is still a crime
The robbing of innocent life
Yet in this day we strive to make the future right
Not let the past keep us blind
So my friends open up your eyes
Be kind
