Man In A White Robe

If the news is true the pope gets a wake up call

He is just a mere man in a white robe after all

Make sure the journalists dont try to scandalize

saying people who adopt pets instead of a child

is selfish better recognize

Tell us when will you adopt a hundred children then

how dare you judge humans trying their best

some things are hard to control

not all of us like you are rolling in a lot of dough

You see the adoption system in every country

why then dont you adopt each child and make them family?

Who is the selfish one? who are the real hurt to console?

I know there will be another story saying this is a misquote

Next time make sure the editor checks what the journalist wrote

Dear Pope shepherd us with guidance and hope

For we are all clueless down here you know

though a man in a white robe is called a pope

Rarely can he wear the title of hero

Only the one above can lighten up the dark with a rainbow

But the pope is only a man in a white robe.

Even he has lessons still to learn, still more home work to heal the world

make it a better place for each boy and girl

tell us pope then when will you adopt all the children?

I am left here pondering on what journalists have said to try and discredit the pope. Certainly the Vatican has wealth galore and I'm sure could dig in its pockets to find the financial means to be more charitable to those who have nothing. Seems people are being encouraged to adopt children rather than pets here. Raising a child needs far more time and dedication than taking in a stray cat. Journalists are good at misrepresenting situations to get a good story and sell newspapers. I wonder if that is the case here? Your poem is intriguing butterfly. It's caught my attention. The Pope is God's representative, but he is a human being after all and like all of us can make mistakes. Belated happy new year to you dear poet.
