Like Toki

Orcas, another spirit animal. I will always want to be like Tokitae. Sweet gentle kindred spirit it hurts to see you caged at last she is RIP. Even animals get hard missions. Love sets us free.

My frustration with the world has made me so dark

i want to be by myself this is a choice I can make

yet some are forced to stay where they are

When Tokitae lived 52 years in a captive tank her resilience did not fade

from the first day ripped from her mama's embrace

till Hugo bashed his own brain to get away

She kept with the tricks, she ate the fish, she chose to live

We can learn a lot from our animals if we listen

They say if we never caught her we never would have bothered

Yet I have found other ways to get to know our earth kin

In documentaries and whale watches

Now sea world and miami aquarium have turned in to orca and animal cemeteries

lifting up the dead bodies leaving them in the dump

no better of then a serial killer

Now here we come on the march

louder and sillier

yet Karma is on her way

we dont hate

but every captive will be saved

They lied about the rescues

they were captured when they were young from the ocean

they all sang their orca song they were the cries longing for their home

yet the ice cold hearted millionaires are void of emotion

trapped in a dark they truly could not see the prison Toki was forced to roam

only breathe in the money

soon we will shut you down honey

because we want an earth thats a little less sad

a little less mad and more poetry

we want the girls to be able to safely cross the street

i dont want an invitation for wine and a room

i want to sing to a man who is good

A Romeo  who knows his own heart

Where making love means the sweetest truth

I choose to go on and swim alone

Am I in a tank by design or to this life am i resigned

I will make the laps

stay focused on the maps

I will do the tricks

I will eat the fish

Like Toki I will choose to live

even a broken heart can breathe again

all i can say is i am sorry and goodbye my sweet friend

Ever sweet ever free

We can learn a lot from the animals only if we listen
