For a beautiful shepherd dog, Percy.

Percy is a dog with a heroic soul

Because of him Medusa has been slayed

All the intruders were instantly turned to stone

The power of his love melted all the crazy away

So now God came and took his pain

Took Him in His arms to a heavenly place

He doesnt go alone

Because of love we will never part

The love that has been made will forever glow

Even on the darkest day

Or even when there is snow

Nothing can keep the memory of Percy's love away

Gentle spirit so brave

Maybe there was so much pain

Not much did he complain

Only a cry at night

He liked the Christmas tree lights

His family kept it up all year

So that it could calm the fear

Now they wrapped him up in a blanket

in a sad ceremony so sacred

the vet scooped him up

so small had this large shepherd dog become

the body frozen, numb, the pain drips out

Its a weird kind of healing now

I cried at work

Suddenly all the Christmas lights went out

For a moment I was in this space of hurt

I thought to myself its just a dog now

But Percy is more like a cure

A heroic soul

For him, medusa has been slayed

his mission complete, his life whole

I am grateful for the days

I am thankful for the memories made at my home

I wish I was truly a princess of power who could heal your bones

All of us are only mortal you know

I am told he doesnt go alone
