Alone in the moonlight

Alone in the moonlight

A Poem by butterfly

Standing alone in the moonlight
I feel the shine of a love before time
He was once there by my side
every day and every night
Now he moved to Stockton
Same roommate same scenario
Might as well be London
Now our love will never grow
It was hopeless I know
Now he sends telegram to wish me good morning
Though he lies by his wife
A moon princess is forever in his dreams at night
reminding himself of a love before time…
alone in the moonlight

Thanks Poetgurl! I appreciate this wonderful review :)
A love that wasn’t enduring. There is sadness here and his absence is felt. The author resigned to the affair being over. It seems that the timing was all wrong. The posted image of the fractured heart confirms. Nicely penned butterfly.
