You and me were just a sham
sad that’s what is in the current romance
but God unplugged me to get back to who I am
this morning I woke up really craving you
I m adoring his kiss
but this bliss
is just a fluke
temporary relief
no love in-between
he cares for me
but moved so far away
texts me almost every day
just to play his game
he is all I knew
so I worked out this blue
because I know I don’t really want you
it was real as it could be
he is only in my dreams
still at 44 we are singing that same song Debbie
We try to hear love’s sweet lullaby
tempted by old memories of paradise
it only serenades us from the door
we try and try
only to find this haunting melody
for what seems there is no remedy
but no matter how shiny it gleams
he is only in my dreams….
