Sur l’amour

God said�"

I will write for you, a sky,

that wakes each day to tell you, it is okay

to fall            asleep.

I will plant for you, a tree, so that you can rest in the shade,

But always return to the sun.

I will grow for you, blackberries,

as you will learn each this-and-that has two jobs:

to feed, and,

to stain.

I will give you choice,

to              free,

and laughter,

to hold.

But, first, I will give to you

Love.

Maybe in a person, maybe in a mountain,

could be in a flute, perpetually fleeting,

I will give you no map,

For it is solely up to you to find where I have

buried your dosage,

and why I have given you this first,

expansively, and

  above

All      else
