How Many Times

How Many Times

A Poem by Joe S

How many times can one heart be broken
By one person who keeps giving token

Of true love that should forever last
Who can say is it just a mask

Only time will tell how much my heart will stand
Till its crushed one last time by a familiar hand

How do you know if a person really cares
They will stand by you thru all your life’s despairs

Thru thick and thin they even watch you crumble
All the while noticing you are truly humble

Always forgiving you can never stay mad
Even if the one you love has done something really, really bad

But my love remains so I will always give token
No matter how many times my heart gets broken

I really really liked this little bit you've got here. It's short, but it's very powerful. I bet anyone can relate on some level, because I know that I did.

I know it's so hard, but some people in this world just have that hold on you, and it takes forever to break that type of bond.
Keep up the good writes!

This poem is really good. I really understand the feeling you are trying to convey. I would like to use it for school. If you have any questions, check out the thread on Brutally Honest Teen Poets group. Great job!
