Connections

Connections

A Poem by Diana Wolf (Jacqueline Stone)

I fear connections

I try to ruin connections if they start to get shorter than I am comfortable

I was use to a long leash

With a loose but still connected relationship

I have relaxed enough to be on an 8 foot lead

Even a 3 foot lead for some people

But still I fear getting comfortable around people I am close too

Though maybe I fear connection because I think of it as a leash to constrict my movements and actions

Ameshing us together, but then what is connections if not a leash or a tether

How can there be a connection without a line of something between two things

Maybe it’s a want to be with them

Maybe it’s a safe harbor through the storms of life

Or somewhere to go to share your secrets

Maybe connections should be and are somewhere safe at the end of the day that you willingly want to go back to

There are still times when life calls you away but freedom comes from being able to adventure and return when you are ready

To the safe hearth at the center of the home you have made
