Critic's lash

Critic's lash

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Whether the words,
  added in haste or thought.

Perhaps,
   casual inspiration.

Still,
  I will add a story,
  few words to share.

Grinning back,
  waiting for the critic's lash!

most of the harshest critics are like those folks at high school dances...the ones who make fun of the people out on the floor....they do it because they don't know how to dance themselves...

writing critics are mostly the same...they criticize because it makes them feel better about their own bad writing.

~ haha... most of these so-called "critics" don't know a thing... :P ~ initially i used to get enraged... once i wrote on entire poem to a guy who was constantly picking on my english... i said in the poem... that he should somehow be born in india... as a girl-child... get abused to the hilt by society... still attempt to study as much as he can... and then write... if his english turns out better than mine, then i'll take feedback from him... he lapsed into silence after that... before that, he used to pick on me and a pakistani girl who used to write on this site... i don't think "critics" think about who the writer might be... i know my english is terrible... but it is terrible after a lot of effort... before the effort, it was ghastly... haha... :P ~ so, i'd just say the critics are best ignored... we learn what we learn by reading those who write better than us... or so i think... :)
