Eyes, not like they once were

Eyes, not like they once were

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Problem of age,
  combined with a rough start.

Blurry perceptions,
  starting before I was five.

Growing worse as years go by.

Eyes,
  not like they once were.

Glad I have vision.

Person's soul clear,
  while my eye's are closed.

a persons soul can never be hidden...but a person can be distracted visually from what is truly before them....I am glad you are here sharing your thoughts

Keeps me out of jail. Well, at least so far! Thank you, little fairy!
we see inside our minds becomes all the more clearer when our real vision fades..

interesting coincidence to read this piece tonight..earlier today i ate at a chinese buffet and my fortune cookie had these wise words:
"the eyes see for themselves, the ears hear what other people say"

like this poem...and what we can only strive for is that when our eyes are closed our soul is clear.

Oedipus Rex when he gouged out his eyes, so everything more clearly..unfortunately for him that is not what he wanted...

Thank you, Jaco! Seeing the truth is not always fun, but I prefer it over an illusion.

:: we have to be grateful for what we've got... true that...

:: my blurry perceptions keep getting sorted every day...
