I will make you work for it.

I will make you work for it.

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I think you believe it is easy.
You are used to getting your way,
and I am tired of you taking those so close.

Carry the scars of previous attempts,
   some on my person,
     others hidden inside.

Even as a toddler,
  I kept escaping your grasp.

You will just have to try harder.

I will make you.

Knowing you eventually will have your victory,
  I enjoy your frustration.

So distant years from now,
I will still have a moment of pleasure.

I won't make it easy.

I will make you work for it.
