Words to think about

Words to think about

A Story by Jon Roggie

I really don't know how to explain this.

I realize most want reviews,
and I will not deny my appreciation.

Even now I am slipping into my normal style.  It is just the way words flow for me.  Day to day life, this is me.  I use few words, and am able to give a simple nod of the head to those who appreciate what I do.  I see you eat the food I make.  I can see you.  This is a different.  You are able to form friendship.  I believe I have found at least two.  They know who they are.  When I cook, it is fluid.  One motion flows to the next.  Every action feels right.  I try that here.  I can't see your eyes.  I can't see your response.  I do not have you in front of me to sense the reaction.  Sometimes, I just want to go back to the notebook and pin.

I understand cooking…there is flow, a rhythm, the outcome when others feast upon your work..their reactions you can read and see the truth behind their compliments..but also cooking has a plan..even when experimenting and you can zone out while doing because of this plan… cooking is a gift given to others…
Writing is also a gift…one that can be kept to self…or chosen to share..
but once shared…you must opened to others interpretations …because now ..it is not only the experiences of the writer…but the experiences of another reader being brought to the piece...
I don't know how long you have been writing… I only know my experience..here on W C is the first real public exposure of my work…I did it to improve..to see if what I write is worth sharing..to find a community of like minded people to converse with…and grow..
The comments .. I think you must weigh within yourself….what is important within each one.. spending enough time here...I think one can learn to see what is true and what is just fishing..
btw Pencil and paper are a constant for me….
Sometimes I go to places just me and my pencil and blank pages….I have a membership to a favorite place…that others in my life could care less about… so I go when I can..and indulge my passion….
I do believe you will find … you are not alone in your thoughts here….
I kind of rattled on.. but then you shared ..and I responded ( :

:: hardly anyone i know in my real world would even believe that i am an aspiring poet... i think they would simply not comprehend most of what i write or why i write... i still have a notebook and pencils and i like the experience of writing... but i like the experience of posting on this site... i like the internet for erasing geographical distances... i like circa 2013... it allows me to have a notebook and it allows me to post... i like to have several options... :)

:: as for reviews, i think words allow us to communicate... to hate them would be to hate communication... plus there are all kinds of people in the world... some like words and wield many rather skillfully and soulfully... some don't... everyone has their own flavour and charm... we are all hear to be read but i don't think we would like to compel anyone to read us or appreciate us... at least i can't live with the idea of compelling anybody... we should do what our hearts say... it's a free world... or at least ours can be free... :)

:: exactly... i love that idea of "just writing"... :)
I think about the effect of my writing often, the effect of me as well. In my opinion it isn't about the words they could use, it's how the readers feel and think and reference back to me. With good old fashion paper and pen it's much more personal, and I agree with you. I understand the frustration one has about seemingly trivial things. But it's the honesty in a look, in the initial flow of feelings.
