Why should I rest?

Why should I rest?

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I understand the concern,
but you worry about the body.

Yes,
  the hands tremble,
and a bit of blood leaks from the gouge.

I grow still.
  only for a moment.

The mind is still in motion.
  Moving.
      Denying the body a pause.

Sleep would only be a torture of tossing and turning.

Rest will come when the soul is at peace.

I think that this is an amazing poem!
I've never seen you on here; I'm not
new but not "old" on here either.
I look forward to reading more.

Thank you. I just write, so I seem to stay in the shadows. Again, thank you.
It's amazing how much I will ignore turmoil in my for fear of making a change. The tough part is trying to sleep soundly without racing thoughts of the desire to change. I need to learn how to not leave the ugly linger in my life. I don't know how come more people have reviewed this either. . . I, for one, really thought it was a great read. . . = ]

this is heartbreaking..."do not go gentle unto that good night"

when it gets so bad that sleep would be a torture...
reminds me of writing..."blood leaks from the gouge" like ink from the pen...
we toss and turn with ideas...might as well get up and write, rest will come when we are dead...

something like we cannot try to put the inspiration to sleep....let it burn the night light.
this poem is so good, how can it not have any reviews yet?

good grief.
