scar

the thing that haunts you

in your dreams

reminding you of what needs to be forgotten

a flash of a memory

a blink of an eye

triggers harsh thoughts

of unwanted happiness

they came and left

but the internal scar remains

will never leave

will always be the same

My interpretation of this, I am reminded of someone who has panic attacks or flash backs. There are many people who believe that have are desensitized to those kinds of things because they can't see those scars. They feel like mental wounds are something the person just needs to "get over" This poem really puts it into perspective that not all scars are skin deep. Good job!
