The Colorful Bridge That Connects Me to the Promise of God

The Colorful Bridge That Connects Me to the Promise of God

A Poem by Jukebox
"

This was a descriptive poem that I wrote when I was in elementary school.

"

A colorful bridge above a field of delicate flowers

It shines and glimmers above me

The bridge leads from the earth to the sky

Its colors trailing behind it

Who knows where it could lead?

It’s bright outside from the shimmering sun

As the sun shines down onto the arch of colors

Then the colors reflect onto the delicate flowers

And give them the light they need to survive

The only sound to be heard for miles

Is the cool, slow, wind wrinkling my papers as I write

As I’m sitting here watching the rainbow go over the sun

I ask myself:

How? How? How?

Why? Why? Why?

How long is it?

How could God create such a beautiful thing?

Why are those the colors he put in it?

I feel peaceful and happy,

With the joy of knowing God has promised me

That He will never flood the earth again.
