Inside Me

Inside Me

A Poem by Juliette

Inside me, you haunt

cool catacombs where I

buried love. Your cold

vapors trigger shivers when

men try to inquire.

I’m not really here

Mr. Barfly, can’t tell

my gaze is focused

on phantoms that possess

me. Called a priest,

forgive me father. This

demon ain’t my only

vice. It has been too

long ago he left

it bleeding in my

out, stretched hand. It’s

curious to feel longing

without desire, a dream

I can’t fight for.

It’s gone you see,

he took my giving.

Sure I’ll take another

if you’re buying a

stare set in beautiful

stone. Red lips kiss

the brim without feeling.
