Broken Glass Hearts: The Prequel To Part Two

i wrote a poem called broken glass hearts about the first time I gave my heart completely away. And now, for the first in five years I did it again.

It's strange how one look

Can shatter a heart

How a few cold words

Can burn scars to your skin

Because it hurts

When someone thinks the worst of you

When someone you love

More than anything

More than yourself

When you've given everything

Yourself

To one person

And it's not enough

It will never be enough

We're never satisfied

Never content

Always wanting what we want

Never treasuring what we've got

Until what we've got walks out that door

And a broken heart just becomes one more

And one more shard of glass

One more relapse

Replaces the faint lines of loves past

Because I thought

Oh I thought

This love would last.
