A Regular Hemingway

A Regular Hemingway

A Poem by Julia Ledo

A six word story
"You've never seen me in love"
A five word extension
"I doubt you ever will"
A four word afterthought
"You are not him"
A three word oath
"You'll break hearts"
A two word promise
"Not mine"
A word of advice
"Go."

JULIA. I love this. The way the lines are structured make them sharp and feel kind of dangerous. I would love love love to hear you read this. And of course, the title is genius in itself, I like that it isn't named for the first line. Don't even read my things if you're going to write like this. I love seeing you grow as a writer.

this really got my attention, first from the title (Hemingway is a favorite--i teach him in my lit class) and then the clever way you brought an already short novel in six words, down to one...just like Ernest..."less is more"

absolutely perfect...read your bio...and this is more than "good"---
