My Scars Forever Remain Open

My Scars Forever Remain Open

A Poem by Julie Skyes
"

Its my first try. Feedback is appreciated. ( dont be too rude if you dislike it)

"
When i think of you ,
it reminds me of all the pain, the happiness
and all the hardships it brought along.
For my heart shall forever be young
My heart shall never forgive nor forget.
It was not what you did
it was what you didn't do.
It was not what you said,
it was what you didn't say.
For that shall remain in my mind
as empty and hollow,
A song that was forgotten
Our song? or so i thought.
Blame is for the weak.
Anger is for the hurt.
But there shall be neither in me,
For everything that is drained,
Shall never be filled again.
My heart shall never forgive nor forget.
I remember the good days too
Don't get me wrong,
That's what keeps me going on
Giving me hope in this utter darkness,
i prefer to call 'life'
It maybe over and forgotten to you.
Scars heal, only with time.
For i shall never deserve that,
Because of what i did to you.
'Time' only makes it worse.
Reminding me of what i once had,
And leaving me craving.
Craving not your love, not your attention,
But the idea of it.
It remains here in my heart,
like an open wound,
Hoping that eventually, will get healed

At this "moment" for me it is morning. I have coffee and am paused here. There is a "realness" in the aftertaste of this poem. A fair description of dealing with a relationship that didn't follow YOUR insights and planned for happenings ...a sort of "He said - She said, gone awry."

Anyone who has lost something which once felt like the only thing in the world - will relate to this. You describe those feelings perfectly

I love the phrase "Craving not your love, not your attention, But the idea of it." that describes how time will soften the edges of those feelings.

Im glad you liked it...
A poignantly painful, sad and honest poetic exposé dealing with a broken relationship! It might take a few weeks or it may take a few months or more, but trust me, that the pain you’re feeling now will end. You will fall in love again and ust like with any pain or ache, it’s going to take time. Give yourself the time you need and you’ll emerge even stronger on the other side.
